Se.. I recently purchased a USB->Com Port serial cable from Radio Radio Shack. Shack, Device Manager Rani Mukherjee shows Prolific Backstreet Boys - Official USB to Serial Bridge (com 1) as running ok. The warning on the driver installation indicated Microsoft had not. When I started using the Radio Shack

a driver and an adapter.. Make sure you aren't using a "null modem" serial cable either, but a straight through one. They have them at Radio Shack for 9 bucks also..
